Wedding Do’s and Don’ts

When you speak of wedding, excitement is very evident not only for the soon-to-be bride and groom but also for the people around them. Getting married is one of the most important milestone in your life so it should be taken seriously. If you want a successful wedding, you should keep in mind the wedding do’s and don’ts. Here is a look:

Wedding-DOs-and-DONTs-2

Do’s

Planning is crucial. You should get your notebook and list all the things that should be arranged so when time comes, you will not have much trouble. You should have a checklist which will include:

  1. Venue – there are many wedding venues here in Singapore. If you want to get married in a church, you should look for the church that you want to conduct the ceremony.
  2. Reception – wedding halls are numerous here in Singapore. This is where you will bring your visitors after the ceremony to share a meal. This is not a problem because there are different weddings halls that you can consider according to your budget.
  3. Wedding gowns – there are hundredths of wedding gowns out there but surely, there are perfect bridal dresses from Singapore that is made for you. You can ask a couture to present you with their wedding gowns but if you want it made especially for you, you can ask them to make you one.
  4. Catering and cake – the spice of the party is the food and the drinks. If you provide good food, people will surely remember your wedding. Do not forget about your cake for the ceremonial cutting of the cake. It doesn’t have to be that elegant.
  5. Centerpiece and other flower arrangements – flowers will bring color and joy to the people around. You can look for a florist to arrange your flowers if you want.
  6. Invitation cards – if you have everything readied, you should proceed with designing your invitation cards and send it.

Don’ts

Wedding-DOs-and-DONTs

You should take into consideration the following things so you will not encounter troubles:

  1. Do not rush – you should take everything easy. You do not need to rush especially if the wedding is still far. This is particularly pertinent when shopping for your wedding gowns. Make sure that you are confident and happy about your choices.
  2. Do not panic – when your wedding is coming, be calm. Panicking will not do you good. It will simply stress you which is not a good thing. You’ll not want to look like a stressed out bride in your wedding dress.
  3. Do not over think but do not be too confident – you should not think too much of the things that might fail. It is said that you should be calm and relax but this does not mean you are too lax confident.

Wedding-DOs-and-DONTs-3

If you want to ensure that everything falls into its proper place, you can ask a wedding planner to arrange everything for you from the catering up to the bridal car. You do not need to deal with all the troubles. All you need to do is sit back, relax and beautiful. If you are cost cutting, you can ask from other friends and relatives to arrange everything.

It is important to note here that the wedding will not determine the marriage you will have. We hear that there are other people who have the best wedding in town yet they parted ways after a few years while there are others who have simple weddings yet their lives are blissful and contented. After the wedding, you should continue to strive and rekindle the love and the relationship even if you have kids or even if you grow old.

Increasing Cyber Security

Increasing Cyber Security

Many Singaporeans are having questions because of the extended downtime of some government websites on November. Infocomm Development Authority explained that the extension of the downtime was due to a technical glitch and not because of hacking. According to Shirley Wong, the Cyber Security Awareness Alliance’s co chairman, the websites of the government are all complicated which is difficult to fix therefore the extension of the downtime.

cyber-security

According to Madam Wong, if it is a ploy of hackers, they would arrogantly declare it. The government has staffs to deal with its cyber security but what about personal security? Every minute, many people are victims of identity theft. Hackers can access your business and personal information but you can do something about it. Hackers will find a way to seek an opportunity even if it means stealing your identity. How can you protect yourself from them?

Password

Your first line of defence is creating a strong and exceptional password. You can begin by using amalgamation of lower and upper cases, numbers and characters. If your password is your birthday or the name of your dog, it is time that you change it.

Browser

Do not forget to log out. If you do not log out, you are actually giving the hackers permission to poke around. If a website or someone asks you of your personal information, do not give it unless you are in a secure connection (the ones with HTTPs included in the URL).

Network

You can have malware if you are not careful. Malwares can tag along with downloads. You have to customize security settings to safeguard your network. Default settings will allow easy access.

WiFi

If you are using a home WiFi, change the router’s setting by enabling your network name and your non default password. You also need to utilize your WPA 2 encryption which is the strongest. If you are using a public WiFi, you need to stop sharing and then utilize your VPN service.

How to Prevent Flooding – Your Own Way

The Marine Parade Central experienced flooding. The flood was caused by clogging of utensils, food waste and many trays in the sewage pipes. Because of the recent flooding, Tan Chuan Jin (Acting Manpower Minister) and Goh Chok Tong  (Emeritus Senior Minister) were briefed by NEA (National Environment Agency) and MPTC (Marine Parade Town Council).

The recent flooding was attributed to the sanitation and hygiene practices of the food centre. In your own way, how can you prevent or at least lessen the severity of flooding? You should do your part. Do not just sit around and depend on the government. Here are some ways you can prevent or lessen the severity of flooding:

flooding

1. Throw your garbage in designated places. The basic thing that you should do is throw your garbage in the right place. Do not just throw your garbage in nearby canals or sewage pipes because it can cause clogging. There are many trash cans around. Use it.

2. Plant trees. Flooding is prevalent because there are no trees. If you hear a tree planting activity, you can do your share by joining the activity. The roots of the trees can help prevent flooding and landslide. Invite your friends with you to make a difference.

3. Share your knowledge. There are people who do not think about their wastes and the environment. You can share your knowledge to them so they can help make a difference at the end of the day.

It is important that many people know the effects of flooding and how to deal with it. We cannot foresee the future but we can be prepared for the worse. When there is a warning from the government , you should follow it and never ignore it.
